Without the help of her death two days

BORN WITH HEART DISEASE

Seven days old Retay lies in an incubator at Alnasers Children's Hospital.
She needs immediate medical treatment in Israel. Her doctors have sought permission to bring her out of Gaza. But nothing happens. "The Israelis should first check what her parents are or what political views they have. So it is always, "says Dr. Nabil Barqouni. Retays heart can handle up to a couple of days.

Without the help of her death two days

Newborn Retay in Gaza must operereras at another hospital - but Israel controls takes time

GAZA. Newborn Retay are dead within two days.

If she does not come out of Gaza.

- We have requested permission from the Israelis. But time is running out, says Dr. Nabil Barqouni.

Retay was born with a serious heart condition for seven days ago. Now she lies in an incubator on the second floor of my Alnasers children's hospital in Gaza City.

At 10 o'clock yesterday morning the doctor took Nabil Barqouni contact with the Palestinian authorities. He asked them to turn to Israel to get a special permit to keep her out.

From the blocked Gaza - to a hospital in Israel, where she could undergo surgery.

Since then, nothing happened.

- Israelis should first check what her parents are or what political views they have. So it is always.

- The problem is that we do not have time. Her heart can handle a maximum of a few more days. If she will not be operated on before the death of her.
His legs are withered

Some place away is Rania Zard, 10. She has spina bifida, a congenital malformation of the vertebrae. The legs are on-LANGUISH. Motionless, without sensation.

Rania is tired and skinny. She needs medication, therapy and rehabilitation. In Gaza, there is nothing.

- I miss school, "she says.

- I was best in class in Arabic.

Mom Wafa, 38, sits at the bedside. She is from Lebanon. Where are her parents and brothers.
Health care has broken down

They have little money and could help Rania into a real hospital. But Wafa is fixed inside the closed Gaza.

- We will never get out of here, "she says, crying.

Windows were shattered by the war last year's winter has been repaired. Splitters damage in the facade have been filled.

It is not visible on the surface, but care in Gaza - where 1.5 million Palestinians live - has foundered.

Magnetic camera on Alnaser Hospital is broken. Of the three devices for tomography of the entire Gaza Strip has two broken.

Israel claims that the blockade will prevent the governing Hamas from obtaining weapons. But the impact on hospitals is devastating.

For each screw missing from a x-ray machine, for each spare part to a respirator that has broken requires special permission. To get the batteries are not to think about.
At least ten children dies

Worst is the lack of medicine. Dr. Barqouni line up the preparations he has no acute:

Surfactant for the premature babies. Kayexalate for the kidney disease. Prostaglandin for those with bad hearts.

Every month at least ten children die because of drugs stopped at the blockade, according to Dr. Barqouni.

It is only at his hospital. How many children die due to total blockade of Gaza, no one knows.

A few blocks away is another children's hospital, named after Abdel Aziz al-Rantissi, a Hamas militant dead leaders.

Here children are treated with various chronic diseases and cancer. Two weeks ago, the final layer with chemotherapy.

Since then, Dr. Samir called Gaza's health authorities and the UN each morning to ask the same question:

- When will the next delivery?
"No one knows when it ends"

So far, no one could give him an answer.

- We have to stop operations, "he says.

Rahaf, 2, is located in a room with a chest infection. She has a congenital disease that causes almost everything she has no immune system.

Each week, she entered the hospital with a new infection. Dr. Samir can not give her the medication she needs, which would strengthen her immune system.

- In the end, she will run up an infection, she can not cope, "says Dr Samir. Then it's over.

He looks at her a long time without

to say something. Then he goes out into the corridor.

- The worst thing is that we do not know anything about the future. That no one can say when all this ends
