LET'S PROLONG & DIFFER OUR SALAH !!!
If we pray our Salah in a similar manner everyday, that is the same few Surahs in Qira'ah (reciting), always reading 3 tasbih in Ruku' (bowing) & Sujud (prostration), always same Durood & Dua-e-qunoot then we may have become used to that similar mode of Salah which may not require any conscious effort. The chief constituents of Salah are Zikr and recitation of the Qur'an. If these are not done intelligently and attentively they can make neither supplication nor speech. They are just like the ravings of a person in high fever, or talk of a person in his sleep which carries no meaning for the listeners and the listener don’t even think that he is being talked to. In the same way, Allah pays no heed to a Salah that is offered inattentively and without concentration.
So let us prolong (specially the Sunnah & Nafl Salah which we pray alone) & introduce some variations in it - prolong its Qira'ah, Ruku', Sujud, recite different versions of Durood & Dua-e-qunoot and then we are sure to experience the improvement of attentiveness and concentration in our Salah...inshaAllah !
1) Jabir (رضي الله عنه) narrates that a person came to Allah's Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم) and asked and asked:
“0 Rasulullah! Which Salat is the best one?” He replied: “The one with long Qunut.” [Ibne-Hibban]
Note: Qunut includes proper bowing, devotion, long Qiyam (standing), lowering the eyes, lowering the shoulders in submission and Allah's fear.
2) Mughirah (رضي الله عنه) narrates Allah's Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم) used to stand in Salat until his feet became swollen. It was said to him: Allah has forgiven your past and future sins. He said: Should I not then be a grateful slave? [Bukhari]
